Transjakarta Trials Ragunan - Kuningan Timur Travel Time 35 Minutes

PT Transjakarta is testing the travel time from Ragunan Bus Stop to Kuningan Timur Bus Stop. As a result, from a distance of 10 km with an average speed of 50 km per hour, it will take around 35 minutes, Wednesday (5/17).

The trial was carried out by PT Transjakarta's board of directors along with a number of media crew using a bus with number 037 driven by Gunawan.

The bus departed from Ragunan Bus Stop at 7.05 AM and arrived at Kuningan Timur Bus Stop at 7.34 AM with 11 stops. The route being tested is corridor six which serves Ragunan to MH Thamrin or Sarinah bus stops.

PT Transjakarta Director, Welfizon Yuza stated his party was conducting a trial run at 7 AM because 6 AM to 9 AM is a busy service time due to office hours. Every working day, the movement of vehicles from the buffer zone to the city center was quite high and the regular routes were very congested.

"Transjakarta fleet plays an active role and contributes to controlling traffic congestion in Jakarta. We promise to be punctual, tested Ragunan to Kuningan 35 minutes during rush hour 6 AM - 9 AM. We give a guarantee to passengers," he expressed.

According to him, Transjakarta bus trips in the corridors could be maximized because the lanes had been sterilized. Previously, the distance from Ragunan to Kuningan Timur took around 45 minutes.

He stressed the travel time using Transjakarta is much shorter than private vehicles or other public transportation. Because, Transjakarta route is free from the traffic jam.

Besides Ragunan - Kuningan Timur, there are two other stops which also take 35 minutes to travel, namely Grogol to Semanggi and Pluit to Kota.

"In the future, there will be seven more routes that will gradually be opened with a travel time of 35 minutes," he explained.

PT Transjakarta Operational Director, Daud Joseph added the 11 bus stops spread across the six corridors stretching from Ragunan to Kuningan Timur were respectively Ragunan Bus Stop, Agriculture Ministry, SMKN 57, Jatipadang, Pejaten, Buncit Indah, Warung Jati. Then was South Jakarta Immigration, Duren Tiga, Mampang Prapatan and Kuningan Timur.

"Trial target travel time of 35 minutes from Ragunan to Kuningan Timur has been achieved. Even faster than the initial prediction, as it turns out that the travel time is only 28.5 or 29 minutes. We arrived 6.5 minutes earlier than the initial target," he explained.

He added the 35-minute mile program would also be launched for Kalideres to Monas, then Rawamangun and Pulogadung routes, to Hotel Indonesia (HI) roundabout. Then from Cililitan or UKI and its surroundings to Kuningan, and Cililitan or UKI to Tanjung Priok, Plumpang.
